Architecture, medical technician and childcare post strong growth in job postings: report
Job postings decline sharply in hospitality, tourism, pharmacy and personal care.
Singapore job postings related to architecture rose the fastest among all occupation groups, rising by 28% during the February 29 to May 31 period, a new report by Indeed showed.
Medical technicians and childcare followed with a 14% and 11% growth, respectively, during the same three-month period.
Among the other occupation groups boasting growth in job postings were: cleaning and sanitation (+10%); driving (+9%); beauty and wellness (+7%); nursing (+6%); retail (+6%); legal (+4%); and real estate (+4%).
On the other end, listings on personal care and home health dropped the fastest with about a 30% decline in job postings in those three months.
This was followed by pharmacy with a roughly 29% decline and hospitality and tourism with a 26% decline.
Some of the other groups with declining job postings were: logistic support (-24%); dental (-18%); marketing (-16%); insurance (-14%); electrical engineering (-12%); human resources (-12%); and physicians and surgeons (-12%).
“Job posting volumes are still elevated across every sector, providing ample opportunity for jobseekers regardless of experience or education.” Pickering said. “Overall, unemployment in Singapore remains low and skill shortages remain common. Recruitment is perhaps easier than it was a year ago but still remains quite challenging by historical standards.”
Latest data from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) showed the city-state’s labour market continued to expand in the first quarter as more residents found jobs.
