Are Singaporean employees becoming complacent?
Only 3 in 10 want their employers to provide more reskilling opportunities.
Only 32% of respondents said that their experience with their current employer during the pandemic has motivated them to request reskilling and upskilling support, according to a report by Randstad.
Additionally, only 27% of respondents in Singapore want their employers to provide more reskilling opportunities whilst close to one in four respondents (24%) said they wished for more support programmes to improve their skills or to adapt to the new work environment and the job market.
Employers also show a lack of interest in providing reskilling as only 15% of respondents said that their employer had implemented more reskilling opportunities during the pandemic.
Employment satisfaction, however, is high with around three in five (63%) of respondents saying they are satisfied with their current employer.
