Business leaders want to raise productivity not fire staff amidst rise of AI
The study said leaders are 1.5 times more likely to say that AI will boost productivity.
Almost 90% of leaders in Singapore businesses said they most likely empower their employees to learn the new skills in the AI era, a study showed.
Another finding in Microsoft’s study showed that 67% of employees are scared to lose their jobs but 81% of them said AI will aid in lessening their workload.
The Work Trend Index also found that workers are carrying digital debt as the volume of data, emails, and chats hinders them from being creative.
“69% of employees in Singapore say they do not have enough time and energy to get work done, while 82% agree they do not have sufficient uninterrupted focus during their workday,” read the study.
The 2023 Work Trend Index cites trends of 31,000 people in 31 countries, including Singapore, and trillions of signals in Microsoft 365 and labour trends on LinkedIn.
