Chart of the Day: 1 in 2 SG employees actively looking for new job opportunities
Better salary packages and new challenges were cited as the main reasons for doing so.
This chart of the day from Hays Asia shows that 49% of Singapore employees, while not actively looking for a new job, are open to new opportunities.
The Lion City’s metric places them at second in Hays Asia’s survey, with China leading at 55% of employees open to new opportunities.
Meanwhile, 26% of respondents are focused on finding a new job, while 25% have no intention at all.
Common reasons for leaving include better salary packages, new challenges, and better benefits, with 73%, 46% and 36% of respondents agreeing. 35% and 19%, meanwhile, point to lack of career progression and a poor work-life balance as catalysts for them.
On the other hand, salary, work-life balance and career progression were cited as the top reasons why employees stayed at their current job, with 54%, 49% and 39% sympathizing. Flexible working options and an alignment of company and personal values followed next at 37% and 35%, respectively.
