Chart of the day: Singapore expat packages places 8th in Asia rankings
Salary and benefits packages in the country rose by 4%.
This chart from ECA International shows that Singapore placed 8th amongst the top 10 Asian countries with the highest expatriate packages.
This package is determined by three main elements namely salary, benefits, and tax.
Salary and benefits packages rose by 4% in 2021. This is despite the city falling five places to 22nd in the global rankings.
“Overall, the cost of employing an expatriate in Singapore rose by approximately 10% to just under US$250k ($344.02k) per annum, with cash salaries seeing increases of about 9.5% in US dollar terms,” Lee Quane, Regional Director of Asia at ECA International said.
In a separate report, Singapore is the 13th most expensive city for overseas workers to live in.
