Chart of the Day: Singaporean workers temporarily laid off dropped to 2,100

Still below 2009 peak.

According to the latest report from MoM, the number of workers on short work-week or temporary layoff fell from 2,450 in the fourth quarter of 2012 to 2,100 in the first quarter of 2013. This was lower than the 2,580 in the first quarter of 2012, though substantially higher than the 210 and 620 in the same period of 2011 and 2010 respectively.

Nonetheless, the numbers were still significantly below the high of 26,530 in the same quarter of 2009 during the recession.
