Firms slow to adopt full flexi-work options
Only 7% of firms offer fully flexible or remote working options.
Despite the push for flexible work arrangements in Singapore, more than half of companies in the country still maintain a traditional, 100% office-based work policy, data from a Reeracoen Singapore study showed.
Reeracoen Singapore also found that only 7% of companies offer fully flexible or remote working options. Some (37%) are implementing hybrid working arrangements.
Meanwhile, the study also found that there are still companies that are unaware (28%) of the Workplace Fairness Legislation (WFL) which will be implemented in 2H24.
The WFL strives to foster fair and meritocratic employment practices whilst protecting employees from workplace discrimination based on various protected characteristics.
Amongst the 72% of companies already acquainted with the WFL, some are actively implementing strategies to minimise discrimination in their hiring processes, including strict adherence to tripartite guidelines, the establishment of anti-discrimination policies, anonymous resume checking, and conducting structured interviews that focus on skills and qualifications rather than personal characteristics.
