NP will upskill 1,000 professionals through the initiative.

Johnson Controls and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) have launched an initiative that will equip students of the education institution with practical learning and experience in smart facilities management.

The NP Built Environment Ecosystem (BEE) initiative will offer NP students practical training and internships across Project Delivery and Services teams, providing real-world experience in the built environment sector.

NP will also upskill about 1,000 professionals in the built environment industry over three years under the initiative.

"Our collaboration takes on even greater significance, in today's landscape where sustainability-related roles are increasingly in demand and sustainable practices have become a top priority for businesses,” Peter Ferguson, General Manager, Southeast Asia, Johnson Controls.

Jobs in the ESG sector have surged by 257% in the last three years.
