
Listed firms’ non-executive directors bagged 7.1% pay hike in FY14
The average director’s fee rose to $60,000 last year.
Non-executive directors (NEDs) in Singapore-listed companies received a 7.1% pay increase in the previous financial year, a report by Hay Group revealed today.
According to Hay Group, the median of the average director’s fee rose to $60,000 per annum in FY14, compared to $56,000 in the previous financial year.
There was a significant increase in median compensation for medium-sized companies with a market capitalisation between $500 million to $3 billion, whose average director’s fee grew by 16% from $65,000 in the previous financial year to $75,000.
This was followed by companies with a market capitalisation larger than $3 billion, whose fees grew by 15% to $142,000 from just $123,000 in the previous financial year.
On the other hand, listed firms with market capitalisation below $500 million were more cautious with fee increases, Fees of NEDs in these firms grew by 7% to $53,000 from $50,000 in the previous financial year.
