MOM: How's my manpower?
Ongoing Labour Force Survey will help MOM figure out what policies and programmes should be in place.
The Manpower Research and Statistics Department of the Ministry of Manpower is conducting the comprehensive Labour Force Survey until the end of July 2011 on a sample of 33,000 households. They will collect data on employment, unemployment and other economic characteristics of the population.
The Ministry will notify households selected for the survey by post. Households with Internet access are encouraged to participate in the Survey via the Manpower Survey Online System.
Households who prefer not to participate via MSOL can provide their contact details to MOM for telephone interviews. Personal visits will be conducted if interviewers are unable to reach the households by telephone. All interviewers will display the Identification Card issued by MOM.
In accordance with the Statistics Act the information will be kept strictly confidential.
