MOM orders employers to ensure authenticity of EP applicants’ education
This new process will be implemented starting September 2023.
Employers will be responsible for verification of EP applicants’ educational qualifications as a safeguard against fake documents, said Manpower Minister Tan See Leng.
In a statement, Tan said employers who wish to score points under criterion 2 on qualifications will be required to submit verification proof.
“We have consulted tripartite partners and industry associations and we will implement this new process in September 2023 together with COMPASS,” said Tan.
S Pass requirement
The minimum qualifying salary for S Pass, meanwhile, will be increased from $3,000 to $3,150.
For older S Pass holders, the salary cap will be higher given that the local APT wages rise with age.
“The S Pass Tier 1 levy will also increase from the current $450 to $550 in September 2023,” said Tan.
