Nanyang Polytechnic, GSI to build MICE industry capabilities

The partnership includes training, workshops, and internship opportunities.

Higher education institution Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and Singapore-based events technology provider GlobalSign.in (GSI) have teamed up to foster the next generation of event managers and to build Singapore’s meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) industry capabilities.

The partnership will include training and workshops, as well as internship opportunities for students and adult learners to develop competencies in virtual MICE event delivery

COVID-19 has changed the ways in which events can be organised, forcing the industry to digitalise at an accelerated pace.

“COVID-19 has reshaped the MICE industry, and we have had to rethink how we now conduct events and conventions. It is more crucial than ever that practitioners are well-versed in digital skills, like cybersecurity as well as data protection and analytics, in order to take on the challenges of our rapidly-evolving world,” said Esther Ho, director of NYP School of Business Management.
