Nearly 30% of SG firms hired fresh graduates in past 12 months
Companies’ top criteria include interview performance, salary expectations, and field of study.
Almost 30% (or 29%) of Singaporean employees said their companies hired fresh graduates in the past 12 months, JobStreet reported.
In its 2022-2023 Outlook: Hiring, Compensation & Benefits, JobStreet found that companies’ three criteria in hiring candidates that are fresh out of college include their performance during the interview process (54%), salary expectations (52%), and their field of study (44%).

Aside from hiring fresh graduates, companies have also shown interest in hiring interns. This is more likely to occur amongst medium and large companies.
“In order to grow their business, companies are looking at interns as a temporary resource to support their staff and identifying potential new recruits for the company in the future,” the report read in part.
