Over 1 in 3 Singaporeans get the jitters from bleak job outlook
Fearful workers are pushed to save more.
Singaporeans’ work-life balance has always been a pressing concern among workers, but it seems like this isn’t enough to make people worry as job security among workers is starting to get wobbly.
In a recent Nielsen survey, it was found out that more people are getting concerned of their job security as 38% of respondents feel that job prospects over the next 12 months are “bad or not so good.”
“Concern around job security edged up 4% from Q1 (27%) to the current 31%... Job security has been a constant, perturbing concern, but consumers in Singapore possess a strong propensity to plan for the future and save for rainy days,” a report from Nielsen said.
“Other key concerns unveiled by the Nielsen survey include work/life balance (23%) and health (22%),
both steadily moving up the scale over the preceding months,” the report added.
