Singaporean Gen Z prioritises health over career: survey
Two in three believe having healthy skin is an important aspect of overall health.
"Physical health" has leapt over "career" as the number one priority for Gen Z Singaporeans, with 82% saying they are more conscious about their health since the pandemic, a study by DeVries Global said.
Additionally, mental health also took precedence over social life in the rankings.
When it comes to caring for their health, however, Gen Zs in Singapore focus on self-care habits such as exercising, eating healthy, and self-pampering treatments; rather than seeking professional help with only 3.8% say they sought therapy and counselling and 7.1% say they do regular medical checkups.
When it comes to self-care, skin health reigns supreme for the Gen Zs in Singapore, with two in three respondents agreeing that having healthy skin is an important aspect of overall health.
Skincare has become a serious business for Gen Zs with most of them placing their trust on experts and friends. The survey revealed that Gen Zs in Singapore are more skeptical of paid promotions with only 32% consider reviews by influencers as convincing.
