Synagie, SMU target to upskill 3,000 e-commerce professionals
Training includes more than 60 programmes with 7 focus areas.
Digital commerce firm, Synagie, and Singapore Management University (SMU) inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop training programmes that will upskill over 3,000 e-commerce professionals by 2025.
In a joint statement, Synagie and SMU said their programmes intend to address talent and skills shortages faced by the technology and e-commerce sector.
More than SMU-certified programmes in seven
areas of focus will be also developed by SMU Academy, which is the professional training arm of SMU and Synagie Commerce Academy.
These seven areas of focus include personal development, customer business development, channel development management, marketing and creative services, supply chain operations, customer engagement solutions, and business analytics solutions.
As Southeast Asia’s e-commerce thrive, Synagie Managing Director Olive Tai said demand to fill in skill and talent gaps should be addressed, prompting them to initiate the programme's launch.
“To truly maintain their position as global leaders of the eCommerce sector, Southeast Asia’s eCommerce and tech players must come together to inspire and build the next generation of talent,” said Tai.
Those who graced the MOU signing ceremony held at SMU were Minister of State for Education and Manpower Gan Siow Huang and top level executives such as Lazada, Shopee, Shopback, L'oreal, Shisiedo, and Blackmores.
