Three in 10 Singaporeans have never used AI tools at work: report
Millennials see AI as having a positive impact on their jobs.
Less than a third or 30% of workers in the city-state revealed they have never used AI tools in the workplace, with 43% of them being Gen Xers, according to a report from Randstad.
The report showed that there were higher AI adoption rates for Millennials and Gen Z respondents. Women were also shown to be 11% less likely to use AI.
11% said they used AI every day at work while 19% said they used it regularly. Close to a third said they used AI for work every now and then, with only 9% having used AI just once.
Over a third said they expected AI to have a considerable impact on their jobs, while a third (33%) said it would only have a little impact.
4% said they expected to lose their jobs because of AI while 4% also said AI had already impacted their jobs. 14% of respondents expected AI to have no impact on their jobs at all.
Nearly half (44%) said AI would have a positive impact on their job satisfaction, while 40% took a neutral stance. Meanwhile, 7% said AI had a negative impact.
"When employers upskill talent with necessary skills and provide access to safe AI tools, organisations in Singapore can cultivate a skilled and adaptable workforce, as well as position the city-state as an attractive talent centre," said David Blasco, country director at Randstad Singapore.
The report surveyed more than 173,000 respondents around the world, including 2,602 from Singapore.
