Which jobs are still seeing growth in Singapore?
This is amidst the overall drop of 2.5% in job postings.
Job postings in 20% of occupational categories, including marketing, saw significant growth despite an overall decline.
Whilst Singapore job postings fell by 2.5% in August, reversing July’s gains and standing 11.8% lower than a year ago, certain occupational categories saw notable growth, according to Indeed.
Marketing roles led the surge in job postings with a 38% increase over the past three months, followed by veterinary (+28%) and sports (+15%) positions. Human resources also experienced growth, with job postings up by 11%.
However, some categories experienced sharp declines. Childcare job postings fell by 53%, cleaning and sanitation dropped by 33%, social science positions decreased by 30%, and security and public safety roles saw a 27% decline. These drops align with recent trends in the market over the past three months.
Job postings remain 56% higher than pre-pandemic levels, with the majority of sectors still maintaining a robust presence above baseline levels. Despite the hiring slowdown in some areas, competition for talent across industries continues to drive demand in key roles.
