Keppel appoints three independent directors
By 2 January 2020, the board will have 11 directors.
Keppel Corporation has appointed Teo Siong Seng, Tham Sai Choy and Penny Goh as their independent directors, with the first two appointments taking effect on 1 November and Goh assuming the position on 2 January 2020, a media release revealed.
Teo is currently the executive chairman and managing director of shipowners and operator firm Pacific International Lines (PIL), as well as the chairman and CEO of PIL’s Hong Kong subsidiary Singamas Container Holdings. He is also an independent non-executive director of Wilmar International, COSCO Shipping Holdings and COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation.
Meanwhile, Tham was formerly the managing partner of KPMG Singapore and the chairman of KPMG Asia Pacific before retiring in 2017. He is currently the chairman of the Singapore Institute of Directors and serves on the boards of the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority, the Housing & Development Board, Nanyang Polytechnic, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, DBS Group, and Mount Alvernia Hospital.
Lastly, Goh is the co-chairman and senior partner of Allen & Gledhill LLP for the firm's corporate real estate practice. She serves as an Honorary Legal Advisor to the Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore and a member of the Advisory Board for Real Estate Programme, Singapore Management University and a member of the Advisory Committee for the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore.
By 2 January 2020, Keppel’s board will have a total of 11 directors.
