A rough landing: Changi slips to 3rd place in World’s Top Airports
Doha Hamad and Tokyo Haneda break Singapore Changi’s seven year streak as the world’s best airport.
Changi Airport is no longer the World’s Top Airport for 2021, landing in third after consistently being on top since 2013.
Its winning streak was broken by Qatar’s Hamad International Airport in the first place and Japan’s Tokyo Haneda Airport, second, according to Skytrax’s 2021 World Airport Awards.

Changi Airport still bagged the World’s Best Airport in the 10 to 15 million Passengers category, Worlds Best Airport Staff, and Best Airport Staff in Asia awards.
It also landed a spot in the non-ranked 2021 COVID-19 Airport Excellence Awards, based on key categories such as providing COVID-19 information signage, enforcing face mask usage, making hand sanitisers available, and implementing social distancing.
The awards were based on votes from airport customers from across the world during the 2020 to 2021 World Airport Survey period.
