Chart of the day: Industrial investment sales soar 498.9% QoQ to $1.1b in Q4 2021
This brought full-year industrial investment sales to $4.2b.
The industrial sector was the big winner in terms of investment sales growth in the last quarter of 2021, jumping 498.9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to $1.1b.
The whopping increase brought full-year industrial investment sales to $4.2b in 2021, an 83.9% growth from 2020, according to data from investment management firm Colliers. This made the sector the third-highest contributor in investment sales (16%).
Looking ahead, Colliers said industrial “will likely show no signs of abating with demand for business parks and data centres,” especially with the lifting of a three-year moratorium for new data centres.
“Further, with tight vacancies and limited supply, the burgeoning e-commerce and biomedical sectors will lead to continued demand for warehouses,” the firm added.
