The facility will specialize in manufacturing ready-to-eat food products.
SATS unveiled its newest and largest food solutions facility in India specializing in ready-to-eat (RTE) food products.
The facility is located in Bengaluru, with proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport.
Spanning 221,000 sq ft, the SATS India Food Solutions facility can supply up to 40,000 kg (RTE) food products per day to institutional catering, private labelling, and commercial clients, including large-scale food retailers, restaurants, cloud kitchens, cafes and lounges in India, and international markets.

The $61m facility will use smart technology to manufacture frozen food to the highest food safety standards. It will also offer packaging services as part of the SATS’ global network of Experience and Innovation Centres.
To maintain sustainability, the facility is equipped with solar panels which generate about a fifth of its power requirements and recycle rainwater to reduce reliance on groundwater by up to 50%.
The facility also uses ammonia as a natural refrigerant and is looking to utilize a wet waste dehydration machine to minimise waste.
Currently, SATS India Food Solutions has employed 230 staff, with more than half comprising women.
The RTE industry in India recorded $69b (US$52b) in value sales in 2023 and is expected to reach $85b (US$64b) in 2026.
“Replicating this capability from Singapore to India and leveraging knowledge gained from long-standing joint ventures with our aviation-centric partners in India, the SFSI team will use SATS’ domain knowledge in product design, food technology, research and development, and packaging innovation to distribute and export the food products produced from the India central kitchen for India and international markets,” Stanley Goh, CEO of SATS Food Solutions said.
