Chng Gim Huat resigns as Compact Metal Industries chairman

In connection with the disposal of his shareholdings, he had indicated his intention to resign from the board.

Compact Metal Industries announced the resignation of Chng Gim Huat as non-executive chairman.

Mr Chng, 79, was responsible for leading the board and ensuring effective communication with shareholders, encourage constructive relationship between the board and management, as well as between board members, promote high standards of corporate governance, according to a Compact Metal Industries report.

He was appointed to the post on 24 July 2007.
