Nobel Design Holdings appoints Chan Kum Leong as Director

He was Executive Director of Association for Persons with Special Needs from 2003 to 2007.

The Nominating Committee of Nobel Design Holdings has reviewed Mr Chan Kum Leong’s qualification and experiences and has recommended to the Board the appointment of Mr Chan as Non-Executive Director of the Company. The Board has accepted the recommendation of the Nomination Committee and approved his appointment.

Mr Chan, 53, is currently the Group Financial Controller of Lian Huat Group Singapore from 2007. Before this he was Executive Director, Association for Persons with Special Needs from 2003 to 2007, according to a Nobel Design Holdings report.

The Board also announced the resignation of Patrick Kho Chuan Thye as Director.

The reasons for Mr Kho’s resignation as a Director is to enable the Company to issue a Corporate Guarantee to fulfil its obligations under a loan facility extended to LVND Homes Pte Ltd, without contravening Section 163 of the Companies Act (Cap 50) and to avoid any possible conflict of interest in the approval process of the provision of the Corporate Guarantee, from the Company to LVND Homes Pte Ltd which Mr Kho has an interest in shares.

Mr. Kho was appointed to the post 1 April 2012.
