He opted to relinquish his position at the age of 76.
China Sports International announced the retirement of Sim Hong Boon as independent director.
Mr Sim was also chairman of Nominating Committee and a member of Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee.
He was appointed to the position on 27 April 2010, according to a China Sports International report.
