Zhao Jian resigned as Terratech Group's independent director
He discontinued following the company’s strategic review.
Professor Zhao Jian, 55, was appointed on June 18, 2014. His responsibilities included being chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Audit Committee and Nominating Committee.
He is a professor and director of the Rock Mechanics Laboratory of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, Switzerland since October 2005. He has been the chair professor of Geomechanics, Mineral and Resources of Monash University, Australia since 2013. Professor Jian was associate professor at Nanyang Technological University and led the Underground Technology and Rock Engineering Program from 1990 to 2005.
He is a chartered engineer in mining in United Kingdom and a registered professional engineer in Singapore. He is a member of the International Society for Rock Mechanics, the International Association of Engineering Geology and the Environment, the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association, the Swiss Society of Soil and Rock Mechanics, the Swiss Tunnelling Society, the Singapore Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society and the Singapore Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology.
Professor Jian got his degree in civil engineering from the University of Leeds in 1983 and his doctor of philosophy in Rock Mechanics from Imperial College London in 1987.
