He was promoted based on his good performance, credentials and numerous years of relevant working experience in the plantation industry. The Board of Bumitama Agri announced the appointment of Mubarak Ahmad as senior GM of plantation at West Kalimantan. Mr Mubarak Ahmad, 50, oversees the Group's plantation operations in West Kalimantan and reports to the chief operating officer. Mr Mubarak Ahmad has more than 22 years of experience in the palm oil plantation industry. He started his career in Salim Agro Plantation as an agronomy assistant in 1990 and rose to become senior estate manager in 2001. Mr Mubarak Ahmad then worked in PT Minamas Plantation from 2002 to 2007 as general manager for estates. He joined Bumitama Agri in 2008 as general manager of plantation, according to a Bumitama Agri report. Mr Mubarak Ahmad obtained his Bachelor of Agriculture degree in 1987 from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) of Indonesia.
